First of all, Happy New Year. I am Simon Buckingham, Head of Marketing at Kitsumon, my background is in a multitude of industries, more recently in AI/IoT. I am actually relatively new to the Crypto space, but I developed a passion for Blockchain and technology, coupled with my love for Gaming — this was like a match made in heaven for me personally. The team I work with are incredibly talented and majorly experienced in many areas, so very much looking forward to progressing Kitsumon to the World.

Hey, I am James, one of the key founders at Kitsumon. I have an extensive background in Blockchain, specifically engineering and Architect aspects. I built skills over the years also in C#, NodeJS & DLT, which of course come handy with many of the various internal discussions and projects we have going on, as well as of course coordinating our efforts operation wise as we drive forward.

What is Kitsumon? Please provide a detailed introduction.

Kitsumon is an online multiplayer social-simulation game about collecting and caring for adorable Kitsu pets, you may have heard of the term MOBA which stands for Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, that is where Kitsumon sits genre-wise. It features a wide variety of professions that will yield items to help in the growth and breeding of Kitsu, as well as several PvP battle modes in a style inspired by DOTA. Many of the items in the game, as well as the Kitsu themselves, are tradeable as NFT assets between players on the game’s exclusive marketplace. Trust me when I say this is going to be an amazing journey!!!

Kitsumon aims to be a game that offers satisfying gameplay options for everyone. With a wide range of professions like farming and cooking, an in-depth breeding system, as well as several PvP modes and planned expansions to metaverse-style open-world gameplay, Kitsumon will be the first NFT game to cater to all gamers.
The $KMC token will be utilized for many aspects of the game’s economics, from future Kitsu Egg sales, shop purchases for utility items, NFT asset trading, and more. For detailed info on our token distribution, please check our Tokenomics graphic below.

I can certainly answer that but let me break it down a bit so I can answer efficiently for you.
So, let’s start with what makes Kitsumon different from other projects….
Other games in the industry like Axie and CryptoKitties have seen massive success, but there is an issue of keeping users interested in the game in the long-term that has not currently been met in our eyes. Kitsumon aims to offer a far broader spectrum of activities that users can engage in with their Kitsu NFTs, to ensure that players will have a great time with the game even beyond the NFT and cryptocurrency aspects that it offers. Kitsumon is aiming to attract not just blockchain gamers, but to spearhead this entire industry toward the general gaming market as well.
Are we planning to implement play to earn mechanism? Yes….
Players can earn through multiple systems within the game world. This includes Instant rewards such as daily and weekly tasks or player achievements. Rewards for participating in battles. Win or lose players will gain rewards. The Discovery of items within the game world through using professional skills may come in the form of digging up some tokens when preparing to grow crops. Trading NFT items obtained through the game on our marketplace or other marketplaces. Levelling skills, trainers, and Kitsu, and much more. What are the current & Future Roadmap Targets of Kitsumon?
We are in the process of having our 20 Gen-0 Kitsu designs transformed into Unity 3D models that are capable of being interchanged using our 3D DNA system ready for breeding. We have are also in the process of creating our first gaming zones and world map along with our exciting ‘Reveal’ process used to open blind bag style game products. Our Kitsumon Marketplace is finished and undergoing testing in preparation for our Egg Sale which starts on the 17th of this month. As mentioned in the website,Within the game,players can choose to participate in a range of Profession. What all are these different professions? So,will there be NFTs unique to certain professions only?
And,is it possible to change my profession once i start the game?

“What all are these different professions?”
One of the primary professions of the Kitsumon world is farming. Players require a plot of land to farm and can obtain multiple plots. Once a user has land they can choose between different types of farms to run.
Another profession is Fishing, which allows Trainers to level their skills and access different fishing zones, catching larger and rarer fish to feed their Kitsu or cook delicious meals with.

“Will there be NFTs unique to certain professions only?”
Yes, all professions will yield their own unique NFTs! Becoming a master in one profession can pay off greatly.
“Is it possible to change my profession once i start the game?”
Of course! You can freely choose to follow whatever profession you would like, and you can even do multiple professions at once! For the hardcore gamers out there it’s indeed possible to master all professions with enough time and effort.
What methods has the team put in place to ensure that the price of Kitsumon remains stable, or how do you dissuade early investors from selling their tokens and show them why they should keep for the long term?

Of course, the main method we have put in place is the tried-and-true Staking. Our first staking pool was opened at the same time as our TGE — On December 10th last year. We offer users generous staking rewards like APY and allocations to buy Blind Boxes during our Egg Sale on the 17th of January (this month). We have seen a tremendous amount of stakes already which has resulted in a stable floor price of our token that is currently about 3.5x the initial IDO price.

Through the staking, which has a lock-up period, we are making sure our token stays at an attractive price until we are ready to roll out our first amazing game features in February 🙌🏻
I read that Kitsumon uses the Polychain network. What is the usefulness of this network for the metaverse? What are the strategies for the Kitsumon ecosystem to deploy and fund liquidity? With which other Blockchain do you intend to partner for this new year 2022?

Polygon will allow us to maximise the NFT ecosystem. Allowing cost-effective NFT production and transfers we can make an NFT system that can have items sell for cents and dollars rather than tens and hundreds of dollars per item. This means we can make a larger NFT item list, crafting systems and more.
Liquidity will be created through the micro transactional systems such as breeding potions that will power NFT creation. That along with other systems and the marketplace will funnel funds into the gaming ecosystem to support liquidity pools, play-2-earn and development.
Along with micro-transactions, marketplace fees and NFT purchases, we will also have advertising and partnership offers on offer creating promotions and revenue streams.
We don’t need to partner with another blockchain to be successful, partnerships in the gaming sphere are much more important such as streaming, marketplace, gaming guilds and other more mainstream systems.
This doesn’t mean we won’t partner with other ‘blockchain’ projects, but another blockchain system isn’t directly needed.

Almost 4/5 of investors are focused purely on the price of token in short term instead of understanding the real value and health of the project. Could you tell us on motivations and benefits for investors to hold your token in long term?

Hey B&G, thanks for your question let me answer this. Of course, there is a multitude of investor levels and your stats are agreeable for sure there. I think what I can say categorically is the team within is highly capable of major success for Kitsumon, not just the short term, but long term as well. We have a number of in-game scenarios that can of course reflect many reasons for the continuation of playing the game as well as holding unique and exciting various NFT’s. The other element I would mention is the impact of gaming in general, I have been fortunate to be involved in eSports for a number of years, the numbers were staggering, and even more so now. We have the influx of MOBA and also now the METAVERSE is on everyone's lips, it is a great time to be involved and more importantly from our side aiming to be a market leader in the MOBA/Gaming space relating to Blockchain etc. I would say those are some key thoughts around why many would invest long term as well as focus on price moves.

Are you planning to promote your project in countries / regions where English is not good? Do you have a local community for them to better understand your project?

Yes! We plan to make our game available in most languages in the world and to especially promote it also in the Asian market, which is often left out by other projects. We have local International Groups on Telegram for a variety of countries :)

What is your strongest advantage that you think will make your team leading the market?

Our strongest advantage surely is that we plan to offer a large variety of gameplay options to players so that all types of gamers can have a great time playing Kitsumon. For the competitive types, we will have several MOBA PvP modes, for the people who enjoy gameplay similar to Animal Crossing, we will have our Profession system. And for the CryptoKitties/Tamagotchi/Pokemon fans, we will have a wide variety of breeding aspects and ways to care for your Kitsu.

did you consider community feedback/requests during the creation of your product in order to expand on fresh ideas for your project? Many projects fail because the target audience and clients are not understood. So I’d like to know who your ideal consumer is for your product?

Of course, it’s my job and passion to listen to everything the community has to say. We’ve already implemented several community suggestions and I have a whole list of things we will be realizing in the near future. :)
